Your Well-being

It is amazing how almost of all of us want to improve our lifestyle, and yet we are doing a zero job to get there. I guess it is just the mere sayings. Some of us are battling  with our physical health, others with the spiritual wellness and some with social and emotional well-being.. While some of us have perfected almost all, and you wonder how?  I wish there was a short cut to that but there isn’t. Living the kind of lifestyle you want to live is a choice not a chance. Therefore, lifestyle-well being means your life is  pleasant, meaningful and engaging.

Although I will not be able to do fair justice to all the great techniques in this one post, here are some great techniques that can help you achieve pleasant, meaningful and engaging life.

  1. physical health

You must be drowning  like i am with the instagram physique pictures that almost every body is showcasing and wonder what are you doing wrong?  Mhhhh it is ok to feel so sometimes… Actually you are advised to have role models and people who motivate you, but you should also know that the type of battles they are fighting  will never be yours, so better concentrate on yourself. Don’t overlook your struggles and your progress just because the result is different from others. Be patient and strive to better yourself.

Discipline is the key to all. You can improve your physical well-being only if you are disciplined enough to resist on temptations. There is more to eating right, exercise and sleeping well and that is discipline and motivation of staying on track.

2. Spiritual Wellness

It is so easy to get caught up in this big world and lose directions. Knowing your purpose in this life is the real goal. Why are you here?  What kind of meaning are you adding to the universe? Can you make a difference in your life and the lives of others? These are the questions you need to ask yourself to revise and reevaluate your existence.

Of course, the most High, our Creator ( Allah-God) didn’t bring us here to wonder aimlessly and merely fulfill our worldly wishes and desires only. But, the center of our life and existence should be based on to worship and worship Him alone.“Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?” (Quran 23:115)

YOLO (you only live once) has been a popular motto for a long time and most of us  think that it means live freely and aimlessly. Rather, it truly means you only got this life to make your difference and live purposely; there is no second chance to be exact. Discover your true  callings and values. Pray as much as you can. Because prayers do heal you spiritually and physically.

   3. Emotional well-being

Everyone will tell you words hurt by far more than physical abuse. I am not saying you be violent and hit instead, but be careful what you say to people because our tongues slip faster than our hands. Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari (May Allah be pleased with him) asked the  messenger of Allah (ﷺ), “Who is the most excellent among the Muslims?” He said, “One from whose tongue and hands the other Muslims are secure.” [Bukhari and Muslim]

To some extent we are the ones who hurt our emotions and feelings  more than others intend to do, because of our negative feelings and thoughts outmatch our perfections . We tend to believe that our intellect, and beauty depends on the validation of others. If the world doesn’t approve it, than it is not perfect and that should not be the truth for us.

Express your feelings, thoughts and beauty positively and break the cage. You are Allah’s most stunning and beautiful creation and He honored you. What else should matter to you?

Anger and depression destroy your higher-self. Practice patience. Put your thoughts and feelings towards the world and people in place. Expecting less from others and more from you is soul satisfying and more rewarding than vice versa.

4. Social Well-being

Your community has certain rights on you so give everybody’s rights and respect they deserve. Be part of the community that you live with. Be more accepting. No matter how close people are to you, they will still be different and will never be  your identical twins so stop wishing and hopping more from people.

Have friends and trust them just because if the whole world gets together to harm you or benefit you with something they can’t except what Allah decreed for you. Be open-minded, loving and caring to all. Be hands on in your community affairs.
